The Story of 1911 Construction
The story of 1911 Construction begins with a father who taught his sons that true success comes not only from working hard, but from building something with your own hands and your whole heart. The founder of 1911 Construction, Hosea Jackson, grew up in a family of eight boys where he was guided by his father, Mose Jackson, whose work ethic spoke for itself. Hosea watched his dad work tirelessly in pursuit of his dreams. Mr. Jackson owned two gas stations while also working in construction as an independent contractor where he taught his sons what it took to build something of their own.
From Vision to Reality
In the 1990s, what began as part-time demolition work for the City of Pine Bluff gradually evolved into something much greater. Drawing on the hands-on construction experience he gained working alongside his father (Mose Jackson, Jr.) and the business acumen developed through earlier ventures like PacMan Bail Bond—Hosea Jackson laid the groundwork for bigger aspirations.
By 2005, 1911 Construction was officially founded with a clear mission: to deliver high-quality construction services, foster lasting client relationships, and strengthen the community we serve. Our first major state contract with ARDOT marked a turning point, transforming us from a small-scale operation into a full-service construction company. This milestone established our credibility and created the momentum that continues to drive our growth today.
In 2024, we entered a new phase with the acquisition of 611 Island Harbor Marina in Pine Bluff, located along the Arkansas River. This expansion reflects our dedication to diversifying our operations while staying true to the values that define us—quality, personal service, and community impact.
As we grow our team and take on increasingly ambitious projects, we remain grounded in the principles that have guided us from the start: hard work, integrity, and the belief that true success comes from building something meaningful that serves others.
