The Story of 1911 Construction
The story of 1911 Construction begins with a father who taught his sons that true success comes not only from working hard, but from building something with your own hands and your whole heart. The founder of 1911 Construction, Hosea Jackson, grew up in a family of eight boys where he was guided by his father, Mose Jackson, whose work ethic spoke for itself. Hosea watched his dad work tirelessly in pursuit of his dreams. Mr. Jackson owned two gas stations while also working in construction as an independent contractor where he taught his sons what it took to build something of their own.
Today at 89, he is still the foundation, the example, and the reason we keep going.
From Vision to Reality
In the 1990s, what started as part-time demolition work for the city of Pine Bluff started to evolve into something greater. Hosea was able to use a combination of the hands-on construction experience that he received from working with his dad and strategic business development he got from his earlier business ventures like PacMan Bailbond to build the foundation necessary to pursue larger ambitions. By 2005, 1911 Construction officially launched with a clear mission: to deliver quality construction services while building strong client relationships and strengthening our community. Our first major state contract with ARDOT marked the pivotal transition from small-scale construction company to a full-scale operation, establishing the credibility and track record that would fuel our continued growth.
In 2024, we marked a new chapter in the evolution of our company with the acquisition of 611 Island Harbor Marina in Pine Bluff, on the shores of the Arkansas River . This expansion represents our commitment to diversifying our operations while maintaining the quality and personal service that have defined us from the beginning. As we continue to expand by growing our team and tackling increasingly ambitious projects, we remain anchored by the values instilled from our founding: hard work, integrity, and the understanding that true success comes from building something meaningful that serves others. At 1911 Construction, we don’t just build structures. We build relationships, communities, and a legacy of excellence that honors where we came from while embracing where we’re going.
